Rated Lions Vision Research
lens of choice:
According to William L. Park, O.D. FAAO,
of Lions Vision Research in Baltimore. UV-filtering lenses are
essential to prevent ocular damage. "We used to work with
Corning CPR," he said. "We worked with yellow filter,
the glare cutter 450x and the 500 series, which was a brown amber
color."
Dr. Park said he recently tried a new lens
by Bayz Sunwear based in Havre de Grace, Md., that he also found to be
quite effective.
Dr. Park stated "I met with the president of the
company at a show, and he presented lenses that were developed for the
Chesapeake Bay fisherman. I called
him and told him I thought my patients would benefit from these
lenses. He sent me a pair, which I used for about 3 weeks and that's what I wear now."
Dr. Park said he would especially
recommend these lenses for patients with macular degeneration or any
sort of visual impairment.

Being on the water nearly everyday from spring through fall,
demands quality eye protection. I am extremely happy to have found
Bayz Sunglasses. They do an awesome job of cutting glare and light
transmission. It's amazing that one pair of glasses can handle
different light conditions and be so clear and bright. Previously
I have had to use two pair during the day as the light conditions
change.
The other impressive thing is how lightweight they are. I am 43
years old and still have perfect vision and I REALLY believe that
partly it is from ALWAYS wearing high quality polarized
sunglasses, which now for me are BAYZ

As the editor of a boating publication, I spend a great
deal of time on the water and needless to say, I've tried probably
hundreds of sunglasses over the years. None, however even come close to
matching the performance - as well as quality - of Bayz. The mirror coating blocks glare from the sun as well as the water. As far
as I'm concerned, they're the best you can buy.

They work, I lived with a pair last year and was impressed enough to buy a second pair. They markedly improved my ability to see across the water. They also improved my ability to see underwater features like grass beds and
fish.

My name is Captain William A. Broadley and I am a professional Marine
Pilot. My job involves piloting of large ocean going ships in and out of
various ports along the Northeast Coast.
I am working during the full spectrum of various light conditions. High
glare, that results with the bright sun low on the winter horizon, muted
conditions of snow, rain, haze, fog and everything in between are
conditions that I face on a daily basis. In any and all light
situations, I have to be able to see and see well.
I have been using Bayz Sun Wear for the last four years
and I'm very pleased with the results. At times when I'm facing into the
low winter sun and the glare off the water is extremely bright they do
the job of cutting down on that light so that objects in the middle of
the glare can be seen. This they do as well or better than any polarized
sun glasses.
What makes them unique is the other daylight conditions. During the hazy
days of summer, they cut through the haze so that I can see the small
objects that tend to disappear. During the gray conditions that result
from rain, light fog, and snow they are absolutely fantastic, giving
bright contrast in very muted light conditions. I have also used them
when looking through high powered binoculars, pulling in distant
objects, such as small aids to navigation, other ships and small craft.
The important thing is, they have to work and work well. Bayz sunglasses are the best that I've every used.

I owned a pair of Bayz Severn Gray sunglasses for seven hours before
my wife tried them, put the protective case in her hand bag and said I
could consider that transaction "an early present" for
her next birthday.
I replaced the Severn with a pair of Chester Amber. Perfect color,
perfect style for cruising on the bay. First trip out this year-bang-the
Chester's went to our boating guest who had sailed without his
sunglasses. Once on, you cannot get a pair of Chester Ambers off any
boaters eyes.
Now I'm wearing my third pair of Bayz and no one will come between me
and my Sassafras Ambers.
Nice going Dr. Ishak and ""thank you" for developing
these terrific lenses.
Sincerely,
David St. Germain
I first wore Bayz sunglasses on a 120 mile
sailing race down the Chesapeake Bay. The sunglasses were unbelievable.
The glare from the water was so minimized and everything was so clear
that I had no trouble seeing even the smallest buoy marker, or piece of
hazardous floating debris and seeing it all from a distance. And as a
bonus, I didn't get my standard "been-in-the-sun-too-long"
headache. In my mind, my Bayz sunglasses got an A+ on the test and
they've continued their superb performance everyday since then. They are
now the only sunglasses I wear.
Thanks Dr. Ishak!

We recommend Bayz sunwear to our patients, particularly
to our post-operative laser vision correction patients as it enhances visual
acuity in varying light conditions.

I purchased a pair of prescription, Bayz sunwear a little over
a year ago. My intent was to use them while boating and they are
terrific for that, but they have proven to be even more valuable
than I anticipated.
I was diagnosed with a detached retina in April. A side effect
of the procedure to repair the retina is the need to keep the eye
dilated for a period of about 6 weeks. As my eyes were very
sensitive to light, I tried several techniques to protect them and
the only one that gave me satisfactory results were the Bayz,
amber glasses. I wore them day and night! I suspect the amber
glasses are unique in their ability to reduce glare without
significantly reducing night vision but the amber glasses are
great, even at night! Not only do they protect my eyes from
excessive light, they significantly reduce the glare of oncoming
headlights when driving.
Until now, I have never considered wearing sunwear at night but
that has changed. As soon as my eye stabilizes, I will purchase
another pair specifically for night driving.
I am offering this information in hopes that it may help others
that have sensitivity to bright light or are "blinded"
by the new, high intensity discharge headlights. They have made a
significant improvement in both day and night vision for me.
Thanks for developing these unique glasses.

[ The American Optometric Association and Bayz Sunwear do not
recommend sunwear for night driving. ]
In Mid-September 1998, the Trawler Sunshine, with me at the helm and
my first mate at my side, departed the Northern reaches of the
Chesapeake Bay, bound for the Gulf Coast of Florida. In addition to
captain and mate, a pair of Bayz sunglasses was aboard. The Bayz glasses
quickly became my first choice for eye protection from the intense
sub-tropical sun. Their performance in greatly reducing ultra-violet
radiation combined with the polarizing filter that substantially
attenuates reflections from the water made them the perfect companion
for long hours at the helm. Not once did I feel I was suffering from eye
fatigue. Since then, I have logged over 300 hours on the water with Bayz
sunglasses. They remain my constant companion, not just for boating, but
for driving, sightseeing, exploring the white sand beaches of Florida,
or just plain enjoying the great outdoors. I use them with the
confidence that they are protecting my eyes so I can look forward to
many more years of messing around with boats. I strongly recommend them
for any mariner who is concerned about protecting his or her eyes at
sea.
